iNaturalist tells me this dragonfly is in the family of Jewelwings. It had a shiny green body, and there was another nearby with a shiny blue body.

@eric damselfly: the best way to tell damsels from dragons is that damselflies fold their wings together above their body, whereas dragonflies literally can't, and have them sat spread out and swept down when resting.
